How do major international artists get their start? What catapults them to international stardom? Narratology presented not only the artist’s trajectory onto the international artistic stage but also the political events, international exhibitions, and curators who contributed to the story.
The installation was completed in partnership with Georgia State University’s Center for Collaborative and International Arts, which, in 2015-2016, focused programming on the countries of Brazil, China, South Africa, South Korea, and Turkey. Narratology focused on the careers of artists from each country: William Kentridge (South Africa); Do Ho Suh (South Korea); assume vivid astro focus (Brazil); Cao Fei (China); and Orhan Pamuk (Turkey).
The installation ran from January 14 – February 26, 2016 in the Welch School Galleries at Georgia State University.
